Materials and Finishes

How Homeiffy documents materials, surface finishes and color variation across the catalog.

Viewing finish group: Metal frames - Flax Oak with Carbon frame. Development references only until verified product photography and finish samples are available.

Material vs finish

A material describes the underlying substance or construction - for example frame material, wood construction, upholstery composition or foam specification on a product record.

A finish describes the visible surface treatment - paint color, wood tone, metal frame finish or hardware finish shown in colorways and surface-finish fields.

Homeiffy lists both separately so you can tell at a glance what a piece is made of and what you are actually looking at on the surface.

Wood, veneer and engineered wood

We use three constructions across the catalog, and every product page states which one applies:

  • Solid American white oak - used for dining tables, platform beds and bistro tables, where the surface takes daily wear and benefits from being refinishable decades later.
  • Engineered wood core with white oak veneer - used for casegoods such as dressers, sideboards and media consoles. A stable core resists the seasonal movement that splits wide solid panels, with real oak on every visible face and solid oak edge banding.
  • Powder-coated steel with oak veneer surfaces - used where a slim profile matters, such as narrow consoles, ladder desks and open wardrobes.

Veneer is not a lesser material here. On a 58 inch dresser top, a veneered panel over a stable core stays flat where a solid slab of the same width will cup. We use solid wood where solid wood is the better engineering answer, and say so on the page.

Natural variation

Wood grain, colour and fabric texture vary between production batches and between screens. Two pieces in the same finish will not be identical, and the piece you receive will not exactly match the studio photograph. That variation is a property of the material rather than a fault, and it is not grounds for a defect claim. It is covered by our 30 day return window if you simply do not like it.

Painted surfaces and metal frames

Painted finishes and metal frame combinations appear in product colorways and surface-finish fields. Exact color naming follows verified records when available.

Hardware finishes

Pulls, hinges, casters and other hardware finishes are documented when supplier records confirm them. Until then, related fields remain pending.

Color, grain and screen variation

Wood grain, fabric weave and paint sheen can vary between production runs. Screen colors also differ by device, brightness and room lighting.

Finish swatches and lifestyle images on the website are development references. Exact product photography and verified finish samples are required before live purchase.

Care documentation

Care instructions appear on product pages when verified. Homeiffy does not claim scratch resistance, water resistance or heat resistance without confirmed documentation.

For upholstery-specific fields, see the Upholstery and Care page.
